......  w 32 - CAPE GAZETTE, Friday, May 1 - May 7, 1998 Houses of Worshi (hurch Notes Seaside Jewish Community offers &apos;Evening to Remember' The Seaside Jewish Community Center of Rehoboth Beach will present "An Evening to Remember" on Friday, May 1, at 7 p.m., at All Saints' Church Hall, Olive Avenue. The guest speakers will be members Lily and Abe Malnik, and Harry Daniller, all of whom survived the Holocaust. Marc Frutchtman, another Seaside member, will chair the event. His parents, Eda and Leon Fruchtman, both Holocaust survivors, will also be in attendance. All of these survivors have been filmed by Steven Spielberg while directing "Shindler's List," and excerpts of these films will be shown. Roz Fried will perform Holocaust songs that she has written and performed in Israel. lsreali street food and beverages will be served. 'Reflections in Psalmody' to benefit Mom's House The Holy Cross Chamber Ensemble and Friends will perform "Reflections in Psalmody" at 7 p.m., Friday, May 8, at the Church of the Holy Cross, 631 South State St., Dover. The Holy Cross Chamber Ensemble and Friends, an ecumenical group from area churches, will perform the music they recorded on CD last August, with all proceeds going to Mom's House in Dover. "Reflections in Psalmody" will feature the inSpiration Of sacred psalms set to voice and music by local composer Michael Perza. Perza, Kathy Doyle, Jim McGiffin and Stacie Kreykes will perform as instrumentalists, with vocals by Roxanne Clacher, Catherine Crusco, Carolyn Cusumano, Dave Hill, Elizabeth O'Shea, Maureen Welsh and Robin White. Mom's House was founded in 1983 in Johnstown, Pa., to offer young women with unplanned pregancies a free, comprehensive program of day-care and support services for children under 3 so the mothers may continue their education. Annual Prayer Breakfast set for May 1 The 20th Annual Prayer Breakfast sponsored by the Georgetown Community Churchwomen will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, May 1, at Sussex Pines Country Club, Georgetown. Virginia Succarotte will be the emcee and the featured speaker will be the Rev. Ruth Morris of Laurel. The Rev. Reed Morris of Laurel will lead a prayer; vocal music will be provided by some members of the Possum Point Players. Betty VanAuken will serve as pianist. Del Tech observes National Day of Prayer Campus Crusade for Christ, Delaware Technical & Commumity College's Owens Campus chapter, will hold a 15-minute gathering at noon on Thursday, May 7, at the flag pole near the Stephen J. Betze Library parking lot in recognition of the National Day of Prayer. The public is invited to attend. During the prayer session, prayers will be offered for the college, local communities, Sussex County, Delaware and the U. S. government. Following those prayers, people will be invited to stay for spontaneous prayers. In the event of rain, the event will be relocated to room 3067 in the Arts & Sciences Center. Mother's Day Breakfast at Mount Pleasant A Mother's Day Breakfast is set at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall (Rehoboth Day Care Center), from 8 to 11 a.m., Sunday, May 10. The menu includes French toast, flied potatoes, pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, juice and coffee. The cost is $4.50 for adults and $2.50 for children 12 and under.
