The following movies are now playing in the resort area: The Big Lebowski - Jeff Bridges stars as Lebowski, a dope-smoking fiend who gets knee-deep in a kidnapping scheme after a case of mistaken identity. The film is the latest effort from the award-winning Coen brothers ("Fargo"). Also look for John Goodman, Julianne Moore, Steve Buscemi, John Turturro, Ben Gaz- zara and Sam Elliott in the movie. Rated R. Black Dog - If you've been wondering what Patrick Swayze's next project will be, here's your answer. The muscular star of the '80s blockbuster "Dirty Dancing," Swayze portrays an ex-con truck driver who gets a gig hauling im- portant high-tech weapons cross- country. His performance is com- plemented by co-stars Meat Loaf and Randy Travis. Rated PC- 13. Tarzan and the Lost City - Return'ing to the jungle just in time, once again, to save civiliza- tion from the clutches of evil, the King of the Apes swings into the- aters for a new generation of moviegoers. Rated PC. The Big Hit - Mark (Marky Mark) Wahlberg and his Calvins star as a hitman who falls in love with a young woman whom he kidnaps. Rated R. Mercury Rising - Bruce Willis is an FBI agent on a mis- sion to track down a criminal who's cracked a secure computer code. The plot thickens when the "crook" turns out to be a 16-year- old. Rated R. Primary Colors - Emma Thompson and John Travolta star as the First Couple in this screen adaptation of the bestseller by Anonymous (later identified as "Newsweek" reporter Joe Klein). The movie also features Kathy Bates, Billy Bob Thornton and Adrian Lester and is directed by Mike Nichols. Rated R. The Object of My Affection - In this playful comedy from di- rector Nicholas Hytner, Jennifer Aniston is a pregnant woman in love with her gay roommate Paul Rudd ("Clueless"). Rated R. Paulie: A Parrot's Tale - Paulie want a bird movie? There isn't anything more to say. The name of the movie probably says it all. Rated PC. Odd Couple 2 - You can al- most hear the TV theme song playing in your head, can't you. The brilliant comedy duo of Wal- ter Matthau and Jack Lemmon team up, once again, for this Felix and Oscar sequel. Rated PC-13. City of Angels- A teary ro- mance about a woman (Meg Ryan) who falls in lovewith an angel. His heavenliness is played by Nicolas Cage, who chose a more upbeat role after his heavy chemically dependent character in "Leaving Las Vegas" in '95. Lost in Space - The remake of the 1956-68 campy TV series cost $70 million and took five months to film, inevitably causing more than one big-wig movie ex- ec to say, "Danger, Will Robin- son!" Follow the space-family Robinson as it travels through the universe to save Earth. The 1998 version stars William Hurt, Gary Oldman, Mimi Rogers, Matt LeBlanc, Heather Graham and Lacey Chabet. This year's show, called "Phantom of the Bar- bershop," features the Nautical Sounds Chorus, the return of Raz- zamatazz as a guest quartet and, for the first time, the Cape Hen- lopen High School Jazz Chorus. She also worked in after-school programs with the city's department of cul- tural affairs and the Jamaica [N. Y.] Arts Center. Ress said, "As windows out to the world, stories are wide open and very inviting. As a storyteller, I am keenly aware of the immense wealth of stories from all peoples on earth, stories written as litera- ture, stories collected by folk- lorists, stories still told in families. "It is through stories that chil- dren are traditionally taught what it means to be human. It is through story that we have traditionally passed on culture to our children."
