HOLLINET computer system t County librarians and their staffs have been working for the past several months to prepare for automation of the Sussex County Library System. This automation includes an on-line catalog service called HOLLINET, a database containing information about book, video, audio and other hold- ings of the Sussex County public libraries. On Friday, May 30, at 10 a.m. Delaware and Sussex County officials ahd administrators will be at the South Coastal Library in Bethany Beach to celebrate the of- ficial start-up of HOLLINET. The public is invited to attend. After May 30, library patrons will be able to use computers in the public library to search HOLLINET by title, author, sub- ject or keyword to determine the materials owned by each library. The database record will indicate whether a desired item is on the shelf or checked out. If an item is checked out, the due date will be shown. Patrons may reserve items directly by placing a hold on the appropriate listings. Other important services that will be available after May 30 in- clude DelAWARE, an on-line ser- vice provided by the Delaware Di- vision of Libraries that includes access to other library catalogs in Delaware; access to magazine ar- ticles and abstracts; and access to the Internet (text only version). Directions for use of the new computer system will be posted in each library, and library staff will be available to answer questions. County residents who have not yet applied for the new free library card are urged to do so before May indi will Births Beebe Medical Center, Lewes, Delaware Alexander McClure, IV and Edith Page, Lewes, May 9, daugh- ter.
