62 - CAPE GAZETTE, Friday, May 23 - May 29, 1997 CHEER thanks benefit cruise contributors A wide range of area restaurants and merchants contributed the hers d'oeuvres and delica- cies that made CHEER's afternoon cruise on the Lewes Princess that much more enjoyable. The successful event raised funds for CHEER programs that benefit Sussex County seniors. Donna Smith-Moore, CHEER marketing director said "donations came from across the county." Smith-Moore and Dorry Miller, president of Ocean Views Senior Singles Mingles, co-spon- sors of the trip, cited the following organizations for their help: Amanda's Catering, Dagsboro; The Buttery, Lewes; Casapulla's, Rehoboth; Garden of Eatin', Long Neck; Henninger's Party Corner, Millsbero; Hoeker's Deli and Hoeker's Supermarket, Clarkville; Irish Eyes, Lewes; Ocean View Deli, Ocean View;, Our Place, Millsboro; The Library Square, Milford; The Light- house Restaurant, Lewes; Quaker City Paper, Ocean View; Sail Left, Milford; Smith's Family Restaurant, Georgetown; The Southern Grill, Ellendale; A Taste of Heaven, Lewes and Thrift- way, Georgetown. Entertainment was provided by Bobby Burns. DSt00 insearch of drawings f am c, hildren Delaware State Housing Au- thority (DSHA) is looking for cre- ative drawings from kids 14 years and younger to feature in a home- ownership brochure the agency plans to introduce during National Homeowner Week in June. Drawings must represent their home and what it means to them to have a home. Entrants must use only the color black in their draw- ing, and submit their entry on an eight and a half by eleven inch white paper. Entries must be received by Fri- day, May 30 and should be mailed to National Homeownership Week Celebration, Delaware State Housing Authority, 18 The Green, Dover DE 19901. Sussex Tech graduates nurse's aid students The Sussex Tech Adult Divi- sion - Stockley partnership nurse's aide class graduated six- teen students recently. These students completed 83 hours of classroom and clinical in- struction. Their clinical instruction was conducted on Saturdays with Nan- ticoke Memorial Hospital, Life- Care at Lofland Park and Mills- boro Nursing Home. The students are now ready for their state written and manual cer- tification tests. The State of Delaware Blue Collar Training Funds provided the monies for this unique partner- ship program.
