iibbott's Mill Nature Center plans June activities Abbott's Mill Nature Center in Milford has a full slate of member activities for early June. Registra- tion is now underway for the fol- lowing programs: Progressive Picnic and Habitat Walk for Families - Sunday, June 1 from 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. This outing features a sensory walk along the mill stream trail to a small pine grove where the picnic will be held. Bring a bag lunch - appetizers, beverages and dessert will be provided. Keeping Your Summer Sanity (Adults) - Monday, June 2 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Especially de- Herb festival set for June 7 in Dover The Delaware Herb Festival will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 7 at the Delaware Agricultural Museum and Village in Dover. Co-sponsored by the Delaware Herb Growers and Mar- keters Association, the vendors will offer everything from herb plants to dried flowers, medicinal herbs, lavender candies and herbal breads. Beginning at 10 a.m. eight half-hour classes will be held on a variety of herb topics including cooking, holistic pet care, aro- matherapy and more. Admission to the festival is $3 for adults and $2 for seniors and children aged 6-17. signed for moms who are looking for earth-friendly and mom- friendly activities for kids during the summer months. Find creative uses for paper bags, socks and stray buttons while producing puppets, hats, bird's nests, visors and more. Edible Wild Walk (Adults) - Saturday, June 7, 9:30 to 11 a.m. Search for edible wild plants with naturalist Pearl Burbage. Note when, where and under what con- ditions they grow, what parts are edible and how to prepare them. Make Your Own Paper (Ages 6-8) - Saturday, June 7, 1 to 3 p.m. Kids experience first hand a sim- ple way of making paper. Materi- als are provided and may be taken home to make more paper.
