Cape Gazette NEWS FRIDAY, MAY 29- MONDAY, JUNE 1, 2015 27 Obituaries )) Mildred Audrey Shipley, taught Sunday school Mildred Audrey Shipley, 86, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2015, in her sleep. She was bom Dec. 21, 1928, in Baltimore, Md., to ClarenCe and Viola Theis. She grew up in the Baltimore area and graduated from Clara Barton Vocational School. She worked as a secretary until her marriage to Richard M. Shipley. They lived in Harmons, Md., for 28 Mildred Shipley years. During that time she was a Girl Scout leader, Sunday school teacher, and a school bus driver for Anne Arundel County for 25 years. She attended Calvary Chapel Church in Harmons. She retired with Richard in 1985 and moved to Bethany Beach, where they enjoyed their love for the water. She attended the River Wesleyan Church in Frankford, where she taught Sunday school. Richard and Mildred were married for 53 years until his death in 2001. She was a devoted animal lover giving many stray dogs and cats a loving home. As her health started to de- dine, she went to live with her daughter and son-in-law in Front Royal, Va. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Shipley is preceded in death by her son Glenn Shipley Sr.; and her brother William Theis. She is survived by her children Connie Webb of Front Royal, Deborah Pope of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Richard Shipley III of Baltimore, Md.; and her sister Jane Burdinsld of Frankford. She has a special grandson Glenn Shi- pley Jr. whom she helped raise. She also has nine other grandchil- dren; and 14 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Monday, June 1, from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., at the Stallings Funeral Home P.A. where funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 2, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park. Roberta J. George, retired price checker Roberta ]. George, 71, of Mills- boro, formerly of Easton, Md., passed away Saturday, May 23, 2015, at her daughter's home in Lewes. Roberta was born in Easton, Nov. 3, 1943, daughter of the late Elwood and Madeline (Sullivan) Jackson. She worked at Super Fresh in Easton as a health and beauty aid display director, and later in life as a price checker with several grocery stores, retir- ing in 2007. Roberta would attend the CHEER Center in Long Neck, where she enjoyed playing bingo. She will be forever remembered as a loving mother and grand- mother. She is survived by her daugh- ter, Robin Wall and her husband Don of Lewes; three grandchil- dren, Ryan, Brittney and Conner Wall; and a sister, Ruth Baldwin of Millersville, Md.
