+ Black and White Beach Ball is May 31 A series of 17 paintings created by the HEART of the Com- munity Art Project for the CAMP Rehoboth Community Cen- ter will be auctioned at the Black and White (and red all over) Beach Ball, Saturday, May 31, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the At- lantic Sands Hotel Ballroom in Rehoboth Beach. The paint- ings have been created to raise money and awareness for the C Rehoboth Community Center Founders Circle. A sneak peak of the worksby Murray Archibald, Sondra Arkin, Julie Baxendell, Rodney Cook, Andrew Criss, Ward Ellinger, Chip Freeman, Barb Kinney, Steven Klick, Lee Wayne Mills, Annette Mosiej, Aina Nergaard-Nammack, Brian Petro, Bob Rahamin, Michael Sprouse, Michael Weinert and Randy Wise, was held May 24. The artists created small paintings using the theme "Summer Love." "I think it is really exciting to have so many artists come together and work on one theme," said Archibald, CAMP ex- ecutive. "The consistent size of the art also brings equality to the work and they can be viewed as a whole show together." Arehi-id, above, who co-chaired the project with artist 'I)ainSummer Love 1, features bold color i/d Mdple strokes in a new technique used to carve out the paint, creating movement and emotion in his new series of aerylics, ' " Besides the art auction, the evening will feature hors d'oeuvres, cocktails, a vocal performance by Peggy Raley, and the honoring of Founders' Circle members and support- ers who have pledged over $371,600 to date to the campaign to raise $I million.
