FRIDAY, MAY 30- MONDAY , JUNE 2, 2008 95 -: CONCERT FOR A RANDOM SOLDIER Tunnell Cancer Center fundraiser set June 7 The fifth annual Cancer Survivors' Miracle Mile, sponsored by Beebe Medical Center's Tunnell Cancer Center, will take place at 8 a.m., Saturday, June 7, on the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk. The event, which is organized in support of cancer survivors, will begin with a recognition ceremony at All Saints' Episcopal Church on Olive Avenue. Participants will then proceed to the Boardwalk. After the walk, participants are invited back to the church hall for a light breakfast and fellowship. "It is an inspirational event celebrating survivorship, camaraderie and hope," said organizer Judith Ramirez, the Tunnell Cancer Center social worker. More than 100 people take part in the annual event. Cancer sur- vivors, relatives and friends are welcome to attend. Registration be- gins at 7"30 a.m. with the ceremony beginning at 8 a.m. Everyone who registers before Friday, May 30, will receive an event cap and a water bottle. The concert focused on honoring the fallen, supporting the wounded and standing by those still in harm's way. Music was provided by Tim and Patti, 331/3, Semiblind, Tiderunner, Factor, Blind Willie, Joe Fulkerson, Andy Legg and lower case blues. T-shirts were also sold at the event. Chad Clifton's parents, Richard and Terri, hold a picture of Chad serving with his company in Iraq. Lance Cpl. Clifton died Feb. 3, 2005, in a mortar attack south of Baghdad.
