They are all part of the silent and live auction items to be avail- able at the Saturday, June 24 Best of Delaware Art Auction and Din- net to support two of the region's landmark organizations, Beebe Medical Center and Rehoboth Art League. Now in its sixth year, the auc- tion has raised over $70,000 for Beebe and RAL. The 18-member Benefit Committee and nine- member Employee Committee have been working since February obtaining silent auction donations and coordinating program and fa- cilities arrangements. The event will take place from 6 to 10 p.m. under a tent on the Medical Center grounds. "The Art Auction is a festive evening of art, pleasure and cama- raderie with a complimentary re- ception and excellent dinner, catered this year by Heart's De- light," said Chairman Marcia Marvel. "We expect to have over 100 items in our silent auction and are really fortunate to have the partic- ipation of artists and artisans of exceptional talent and creativity in both the live and silent auctions. This is a good opportunity for our guests and generous supporters to buy original works of art that ex- emplify the best in our region." Included will be the dynamic florals of Mary Page Evans; the traditional landscapes of Constance James Kollock; the special depictions of Delaware scenes by Howard Schroeder; the masterly watercolors of Lydia Bell Lynch; the innovative, award-winning abstractions of Charlu Schilling and the panoram- ic mixed media horse studies of Rebecca Raubacher. Proceeds from the event benefit both Beebe Medical Center and the Rehoboth Art League. At Beebe, the funds will be used to help the Clinical Building, the new 70,000 square foot facility expected to be fully in service by early 1996, will house a cancer center, surgery facilities, rehabili- tation services and a diagnostic laboratory. The event also provides vital support to the RAL for its educa- tion and exhibition programs, which make art work of the high- est standard available to all who live, work or visit the region. Admission is $65 per person, which includes complimentary re- ception and seated dinner.
