66 - CAPE GAZETTE, Friday, June 4 - June 10, 2004 Minner [ proclamation honors veterans : ............. Gov. Ruth Ann Minner re- cently signed a proclamation honoring the World War II veterans and their memorial. The proclamation also recog- nized the effort on the part of home front war personnel, the Rosie the Riveters, etc., and was presented in con- junction with the activities being held in Washington D.C. May 29. American Legion Posts across Delaware have been holding prayer breakfasts, concerts, luncheons and walk-a-thons to honor these veterans and their service to the country. Shown at right are Tom Burns, national executive committee member of Delaware, and a charter member of American Legion Post 24, Dagsboro; Marsha Burns, American Legion Aux- iliary Department state pres- ident, also a charter member of Post 24; and Judy Carr, WWII chairman for the Amer- ican Legion Auxiliary and member of Unit 28 Oak Or- chard/Riverdale American Legion Auxiliary.
