122 - CAPE GAZETTE, Friday, June 4 - June 10, 2004 Get in the swim at Del Tech Pool has summer hours, programs in Georgetown Before any family "makes waves" this summer, they should make sure your swimming and water safety skills are up to date with children's swim classes at Delaware Technical & Communi- ty College, Owens campus. This year's Swim Program again will feature classes with Red Cross instruction and certifi- cation. Instruction is given in a 25-meter, six-lane swimming pool located on the southeast side of the campus behind the Jason Technology Center. Certified wa- ter safety instructors can give in- dividualized attention when teaching each new level of skills; the average class is five students per instructor. Designed by the Red Cross, the following classes meet for 10 ses- sions for $55: Tiny Tots (2-5 years); Beginner (levels 1 & 2); Advanced Beginner (level 3); and Intermediate (levels 4 & 5). There is a one-time, nonrefundable $10 registration fee for each partici- pant. Session I begins June 21 with morning and evening classes available. There will be three additional cycles of classes through the sum- mer: Session II begins July 12; Session III, July 26; Session IV, Aug. 9. West Cape May to hold strawberry festival On Saturday June 5, (rain date June 6) West Cape May will again celebrate the Strawberry Festival at Wilbraham Park, at the comer of West Perry and Broadway just blocks from the beach and down- town Cape May. The event will feature more than 50 local businesses, artists, antique dealers, crafters, music and, of course, strawberry short- cake. All day entertainment includes the Dancing Grannies, John Wal- ter Cape Community Band, Starlight Steppers, David Donnel- ly, Jacque Bonilla and East Lynne Theatre Company. The Strawberry King and Queen will be crowned at 3 p.m., followed by the popular Marc Ja- copec and his drumming troupe. Food vendors include JB's Bar- beque, Cape May Crab Cake Fact tory, Smoothie Chicks and Van- thias.
