Rabies clinic set for Oak Orchard June 15
The Oak Orchard Riverdale
Civic Association, in cooperation
with the state division of public
health, will sponsor a rabies inoc-
ulation clinic Saturday, June 15 in
the Community Youth Center,
Rt. 5, Oak Orchard.
The state will furnish 300 rabies
inoculations to cats and dogs he-
ginning at 10 a.m.
During a recent meeting, Dr.
Babu Kaza emphasized the impor-
tance of all pets to be inoculated
against this disease.
The state director of the rabies
program, Kaza told residents of
the increased danger of rabies
spreading throughout area com-
munities.
Shots will be free, but the civic
association will accept donations
to benefit further community im-
provement projects.
The civic association is also
planning the 4th Annual Civic
Day Celebration and Parade Sat-
urday, June 6 in Oak Orchard. The
event is on the lot next to the
church, Rt. 5, from 9 a.m. until 3
p.m.
Included are entertainment, spe-
cial attractions, youth activities,
games, prizes and food and fun.
The parade steps off at 10 a.m.
from Road 311, follows River
Road and ends at the site ;of the
big event, Rt. 5, Oak Orchard.
