Briefly Chamber Kiosks to open this summer Rehoboth Beach-Dewey Beach Chamber offCommerce President Kay Wheatley said that the cham- ber plans to set up kiosks to dis- tribute information about down- town businesses and Rehoboth Beach at the Ocean Outlets and in Dewey Beach. Wheatley said on June 5 that Dewey Beach's Commissioners have approved the concept of a kiosk and that the Dewey Com- missioners will vote on the loca- tion June 14. Executive Director Carol Everhart had discussed the subject at the chamber's regular meeting. A second kiosk has been ap- proved for Ocean Outlets Seaside and a third location has been ap- proved for the Rehoboth Outlet Center, according to Wheafley. The Rehoboth Outlet Center lo- cation would be located within the mall office on site (it is not a sepa- rate kiosk), she said. The Dewey location is proposed for the empty lot next to the Bottle and Cork. Wheatley said she still hopes to be able to locate a fourth location in downtown Rehoboth. The other three locations are expected to open this summer, she said. The effort to provide the kiosks or information areas at outlet malls is a way of having the downtown area and the malls work together to provide con- sumers with more information, she said. "I don't see any losers in this," Wheafley said. "It's truly just a partnership between one of the chamber members and the Chamber." Students will staff the informa- tion centers which will provide maps, information on parking per- mits, beach rules, lists of available accomodations and similar infor- mation. She said the centers would not open until school ends because of the student staffing.
