States Naval Academy Band's
jazz ensemble, will appear at 2:30
p.m., Saturday, June 8 at the
Methodist Manor House, 1001
Middleford Road, Seaford.
The Next Wave is one of the
finest jazz bands in the Navy and
is always a popular attraction
wherever it appears. Under the di-
rection of Senior Chief Musician
Randy Martell, The Next Wave is
17 of the most highly skilled mu-
sicians in the country. They are
professional musicians all, and
avid jazz lovers keeping the big
band sound alive in America.
Their music includes time-tested
arrangements, by the likes of
Goodman, Ellington, Basie and
Miller as well as the more con-
temporary names of Maynard Fer-
guson, Rob McConnell and Bob
Florence. In addition to the well-
attended concerts, the group per-
forms as a dance band for a vari-
ety of official military functions,
including formal midshipman
balls.

Milford Heritage Festival set June 22
The Milford Museum, Milford Memorial Hospital and Downtown
Milford, Inc. are collaborating on a full day of fun and fitness celebra-
tion on Saturday, June 22. Marguerite Ashley, Program Manager,
prondses an attractive and educational historic walking tour of Milford
with marked mileage so that participants can exercise a measured dis-
tance and learn about the town's history at the same time. Recent DHC
McKinstry award winner William Thiesen will present a slide talk on
Milford's wooden shipbuilding industry.
Many childrens' activities will be available, including old fashioned
