Bryan photo exhibit opens at Rabbit's Ferry hc The Lewes Historical Society's Rabbit's Ferry House, located in the Historical Complex at Third and Shipcarpenter streets, will take on a new look this summer. Opening Tuesday, June 13 as a visitors and information center as well as the guided tour ticket sales , office, this 18th century one-room farmhouse features brick nogging in the walls and its later addition has original mantles, doors and woodwork. It was moved from its original site to the Historical Complex in 1967. A key attraction to the new visi- tors center will be an exhibit of some 100 framed, black and white photographs taken by the late Everett D. Bryan. The Bryan photographs, from the collection of Hazel Britting- ham, depict Lewes from the 1920s through the 1940s. Bryan, a Lewes native and reg- istered pharmacist, worked at the Lewes Drug Store owned by Arthur H. Morris. During his career he becamein- terested in photography and made hundreds of photographs of Lewes and its residents. Bryan died in February, 1991 at the age of 82. The Rabbit's Ferry Visitors Center will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Thursday through Fri- day and l0 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Saturdays.
