cape oazettc BUSINESS & REAL ESTATE FRIDAY, JUNE 10- MONDAY, JUNE 13, 2011 53 Charity event For SoDel Concepts' Global Delaware Fund set June 24 in Lewes Matt Haley and Bryony Ziegler, owners of SoDel Con- cepts, will host a fundraising event for the newly founded Global Delaware Fund, at 7 p.m., Friday, June 24, at Fish On restau- rant in Lewes. The Global Delaware Fund was formed in January with the goal of administering goods and services to at-risk children and to • those in distressing situations, lo- cally and internationally. Aid provided incMdes food, clothing, and shelter as well as counseling, scholarships, and educational grants. By way of a hands-on ap- proach, Global Delaware aims to create long-term sustainability for entire communities in need. Haley says after witnessing the dishonesty and corruption of nonprofit organizations first- hand while travelling the world, it became evident that establish- ing a transparent, well-organized charity was necessary. "It was important to us to pro- tect not only our money but oth- er people's, too," he said. "It's honest. Everyone is 100 percent volunteer - there's no reimburse- ment, no kickbacks. Most of our vendors donate their services and funds. So, when you donate to Global Delaware, the highest percentage of your dollar goes directly to the chu'ity." The event for the Global Delaware Fund will provide light fare made from local, farm-fresh ingredients by Jen Blakeman of Plate Catering. The menu will feature an Indonesian-Nepali in- fluence, inspired by the recent beneficiaries and charity work implemented in Nepal. A live auction will also be in- corporated into the evening, with bidding items such as a pri- vate, catered meal for 12 by Matt Haley, original artwork by Bry- ony Ziegler, golf and wine pack- ages, and others. All proceeds for this event will go to the Global Delaware Fund. Tickets are $50 each, and limited to 100. To purchase, contact Molly King at Fish On, 302-645- 9790 or email sodelconcepts@gmail.com. Fish On is located at the Vil- lages of Five Points in Lewes:, 17300 North Village Main Blvd. For further information about the Global Delaware Fund, go to www.theglobaldelawarefund.co m.
