Methodist churches host 300th anniversary A celebration of the 300th anniversary of Wesley' s birth .and the heritage of Methodism in coastal Sussex County is set for 7 p.m., Tuesday, June 24, at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center. All are welcome. Long Neck Methodist to hold annual yard sale Long Neck United Methodist Church, located on Long Neck Road, will hold its annual spring yard sale at 8 a.m., Saturday, June 14. Light refreshments will be available. The church will also host the Teen Archangel Choir and the Hands of Praise Puppet Ministry at 6:30 p.m.,Sunday, June 22. Delaware Conference 6n-family violence set The Delaware Ecumenical Council on Children and Families has announced its conference, Faith Communities are Safe Communi- ties, for Friday, June 20, at Kent County Polytech. First State cler- gy, social service and health professionals are invited to gather to discuss ways in which they can work together to respond to the problem of violence in Delaware families. Personnel from the faith and health communities are often the first responders in cases of family violence, so an understanding of this issue is essential. The all-day conference will feature several important sessions. The keynote speakers are Gerri Redden, executive director of the Na- tional .Violence Prevention Project in St. Louis, Mo., and Ann Gearhart, director of education for the Synder Foundation for Ani- mals in Baltimore.
