CHEER Center to host long-term care workshop The CHEER Community Cen- ter Lecture Series will continue with a free workshop, Designing Your Long-Term Care Insurance Plan, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., June 20, in the Warren L. and Charles C. Allen Jr. CHEER Community Center in Georg e - town. The seminar is open to the public. Gregg M. Millman of Delaware Vatiey Financial Group will be the guest speaker. Mill- group is designed to give people with diabetes an open forum for the exchange of information and support. It also provides the op- portunity to generate enthusiasm and motivation. TITe Leading Pet.nal Training ervice In Delaware Bayhealth osteoporosis screenings set June 20 The National Institutes of Health estimates osteoporosis leads to 1.5 million fractures per year, mostly in the hip, spine and wrist. It threatens more than 25 mil- lion Americans, mostly women, CAPE GAZETTE, Friday, but older men can get it, too. Early detection is key to pre- venting fractures. Genetic, dietary, hormonal, age- related and lifestyle factors can contribute to osteoporosis, but treatment to preserve or increase bone mass is possible if detected early. Those who believe they are at June 13 - June 19, 2003 - 85 risk of developing osteoporosis may attend a free osteoporosis screening from 9 to 11 a.m., the third Friday of each month at the Women's Wellness and Resource Center at Bayhealth Medical Cen- ter-Milford Memorial Hospital.
