Midwa American Legion Post 28 observes Flag Day American Legion Post 28 Oak Orchard/Riverdale held a Flag Day Observance on June 14 at the Post Home. Above, members of the post stand at attention while old "Stars and Stripes" are properly disposed of in a kettle of fire each year on Flag Day. Each year people are urged to give their old flags to the Legion so that they can be burned rather than discarded. Mispillion Kennel Club offers Good Citizen Test Dog owners, dog lovers and just plain curious people will want to come to two events being held si- multaneously on Sunday, June 22. at "Riverlane," located west of Georgetown. The Mispillion Kennel Club, Inc.. a member club of the Ameri- can Kennel Club, Will give the AKC Canine Good Citizen Test to any dog, purebred or mixed- breed, to enable it to earn an AKC Canine Good Citizenship title cer- tificate. At the same time, the Diamond State Canine Learning Center will conduct an Obedience Show & Go, with sub-novice, novice, open and utility classes, with Enid Legree of Rehoboth Beach, AKC Judge Emeritus, handling the judging duties. All dogs entered in either event must have proof of rabies shots and current licenses. Fees are $10 for the Canine Good Citizen and $5 for the Show & Go. The Good Citizen Test was de- veloped by the AKC so that all dogs could prove their trustwor- thiness and temperament, no mat- ter what the breed or mixture; Dogs must demonstrate a little simple obedience, show no ani- mosity to either people or dogs, an in general behave themselves as good citizens. Those that pass may put the coveted "CGC" after their names. Some go on to be- come Therapy Dogs.
