Rachel H. Powers,
worked for dental supply
Rachel H. Powers, age 66 of
Milton, died Saturday, June 14,
1997 of cancer in Milford Memor-
ial Hospital.
Mrs. Powers had worked for
L.D. Caulk Dental Supply Co., for
21 years, retiring in 1993. She was
a member of the Milto6 Wesleyan
Church where she served on the
board of directors, and was a Sun-
day School superintendent.
She was preceded in death by
her husband, William M., in 1964.
She is survived by her daughter,
Ina Wyatt'of Milton; a son,
William M., Jr., of Milton; five
sisters, Roberta Walls, Imogene
Spencer, and Esther Reynolds, all
of Milton, Maritta Baker of Dover
and Aileen Timmons of Mills-
boro; two brothers, Amos Dono-
van of Endwell, N.Y., and
Leighton Donovan of Milton; and
four grandchildren.
Services were held at Short Fu-
neral Services, Milton, with burial
in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milton.

Charles Eugene Turco,
industrial engineer
Charles Eugene Turco, age 66,
of Angola By The Bay, and for-
merly of Camden, died Sunday,
June 15, 1997 of heart failure at
Beebe Medical Center.
Mr. Turco retired in 1993 after
18 years as an Industrial Engineer
for Hercules Company of Wilm-
ington. He was an Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife,
Grace G. Turco; two sons, R. Alan
Moore, of Bridgeville and David
Marshall Moore of Dover; a
daughter, Constance Lynne Hunt
of E1 Paso, Texas; a brother,
Frank of Philadelphia; and two
grandchildren.
Services were held at the
Sharon Hills Memorial Park in
Dover.

Helen C. New,
Shopper's Fair employee
Helen C. New, age 89, of
Brookmeade, died Thursday, June
12, 1997, of complications of
pneumonia in St. Francis Hospi-
tal, Wilmington.
Mrs. New worked for the for-
mer Shopper's Fair store on
DuPont Highway in New Castle
for 10 years, retiring in 1980. She
was a membe{ of the Elsmere Se-
nior Center, past matron of the
Radiant Lodge No. 6, Order of the
Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by
her husband, William, in 1992,
and by her first husband, Bertrand
Tafh in 1954.
She is survived by two daugh-
ters, Muriel Smith of Rehoboth
Beach, and Alice M. Winner, at.
home; a brother, Paul Melvin; of
New Castle; 12 grandchildren; 12
great-grandchildren and two
great-great grandchildren.
Services were held at Cedars
United Methodist Church, with
burial private.
Melvin Lee Morris Jr.,
truck driver
Melvin Lee Morris Jr., age 45,
of Seaford, died Saturday, June
14, 1997 of a heart attack at Nanti-
coke Memorial Hospital, Seaford.
Mr. Morris was a truck driver
for the past 11 years for Morris
Justice of Dagsboro. He was an
Army veteran of the Vietnam War
and a member of the Virgil Wat-
son Post 4961 of Veterans of For-
eign Wars and American Legion
Nanticoke Post 6, Seaford.
Mr. Morris is survived by his
mother and stepfather, Georgian-
na Green Cranfield and Donald E.
Cranfield of Seaford; a son,
Melvin Lee III at home; a brother,
Frank of Seaford; and a sister,
Kimberly S. Fischer of Lewes.
Services were held at Watson-
Yates Funeral Home, Seaford,
with burial in Odd Fellows Ceme-
tery, Seaford.
