Midway Shopping Center, lo-
cated between Lewes and Re-
hoboth Beach, has announced that
it has completed the renovation of
its shopping center.
The original Midway Shopping
Center was built in the mid- 19508.
Anchoring the site was the Mid-
way Drive-In, which opened in
1953. Five additional stores
opened in 1954. Three of the orig-
inal types of stores - a grocery
market, a hardware store and a
liquor store - are still there, and
Millman's Hardware is an original
tenant.
Today, the Midway Shopping
Center is one of the entertainment
centers of Sussex County. It offers
a seven-screen movie theater, a
32-lane bowling facility, a skating
rink. a go-kart track, water slide.

ward Jones investment representa-
tive, will host the third program in
the Professional Education Net-
work's 1997 Broadcast Series for
accounting and legal profession-
als. The satellite broadcast, "Tax
• and Legal Issues Affecting the
Older Client," is co-sponsored by
the American Bar Association
General Practice, Solo and Small
Firm Section. It will be held
Wednesday, June 25, from 1 to 4
p.m.
"I am excited about working
with the American Bar Associa-
tion to offer this program to our
local accounting and legal profes-
sionals," Egeln said.
Topics for discussion will in-
clude: what to do today to ensure
an adequate retirement income;
how to plan for large medical and
retirement home expenses; how to
program
avoid loss of income and assets in
order to obtain Medicare cover-
age; steps to take to pass on an op-
erating business to children and
grandchildren; and the role of in-
surance in retirement planning.
Guest speakers will include
Martin H. Zern, J.D., professor at
the Lubin School of Business, De-
partment of Legal Studies, Taxa-
tion and Real Estate, Plantville,
N.J.; Nancy Fax, J.D., L.L. M,
shareholder, Wilkes, Artis, Hen-
drick and Lane in Bethesda, Md.;
and Kathryn Smith, J.D., principal
at Bergman, Horowitz and
Reynolds, P.C., in New Haven,
Conn.
The enrollment fee is $50,

"Meet the Chefs" at Carlton's June 21
Jim (the one with hair on his face) and Pete (the big guy) are the chefs

Dryden named to new post at Villages of Old Landing
Littleton (Lit) Dryden has been appointed marketing director and
manager of operations at The Villages of Old Landing, a planned com-
munity now under construction in Rehoboth Beach. Dryden will be re-
sponsible for the coordination of sales, construction and community re-
lations for the 140-unit year-round development located on Old Land-
ing Road, west of Highway One.
