-Hanna& McKenna will be back to Victoria's in Rehoboth Beach on Wednesday nights from July 2 through Aug. 27 with their variety show. - ...... Hanna and McKenna return to Victoria's July 2-Aug. 27 "Hanna & McKenna"'will bring their interactive cabaret show en- titled, "Bandstand, Boogie Woo- gie & Broadway," to Victoria's in the Boardwalk Plaza Hotel, locat- ed at Olive Avenue and the Boardwalk in Rehoboth Beach. The two. will appear Wednesday nights from July 2 to Aug. 27. The popular duo, with accom- panist Ed Onorato, will present a different show each week featur- ing the music from the early days of American Bandstand, the nos- talgic 40s, and Broadway's great- est shows, with some contempo- rary standards thrown in for good measure. With all five previous shows at the Boardwalk Plaza sold out weeks in advance, inter- ested parties are urged to reserve early. Seating is limited to 70 people and will be done by reservation only. CAPE GAZETTE, Friday, June 20. June 26, 1997 - 75 First County Fair set for Sussex July The first annual County Fair will be held 16 miles from any- where in Sussex County on July 3, 4 and 5. The Greater Georgetown Chiimber of Commerce and Delaware Technical & Communi- ty College, Owens Campus, will sponsor the fair, held on the grounds of the County Airport, just south of Route 9 on Industrial Park Boulevard. Each day will feature a carnival, exhibits and food vendors. The gates will open on Thursday at 3 p.m. and on Friday and Saturday at 9 a.m. Throughout Friday and Satur- day, children can enjoy carnival rides and a 4-H petting zoo, com- plete with pony rides. The traditional horseshoe pitch- ing tournament will be held on Friday starting at 10 a.m. At 1:30 p.m., a soccer tournament will be- gin. Saturday will open with bicy- clists taking off from the airport for either a 10-, 30- or 50 mile trek across Sussex County's country- side. Antique car buffs can browse through the display of vehicles from yesteryear and those who en- joy a good do-se-do an swing their partners t o the music of the Whirl- away Square Dancers at 4 p.m. Also at 4 p.m. the La Liga Latina De Futbol de Delmarva Soccer League will play an exhibition game. Nights will also proyide enter- tainment for the whole family. The United States Army Band will give a concert at 7 p.m. on Thursday, and the U.S. Navy Band will play at 8 p.m. on Fri- day. Of course, the traditional fireworks will blast off on Friday, July 4. Saturday evening will feature local talent in competition to win cash prizes sponsored by First State Chevy-Olds and four hours of recording time, courtesy of Mid-South Audio, All acts will perform to the music of the band, The Cruzers. There is no admission charge to the fair. A $2 parking fee will ben- efit the Boy Scouts. For more information, call 856- 1544.
