Baystar sets auditions for "Steel Magnolias" Baystar Production, Inc., will hold auditions at the Sea Horse Restaurant in Rehoboth Beach on Saturday, June 28 at 2 p.m. and on Sunday, June 29 at 7 p.m. for "Steel Magnolias," Robert Har- ling's hit Broadway comedy that will run in the Baystar Dinner Theatre on Thursday and Saturday evenings from Aug. 21 through Aug. 30, and Thursday and Friday evenings from Sept. 4 through Sept. 27. "Steel Magnolias" has an all-female cast, with roles f Auction Continued from page 78 are used to support local charita- ble organizations and community projects, as the Kiwanis Club of Rehoboth Beach has raised and contributed nearly three quarters of a million dollars to such pro- jects and organizations in Dewey Beach, Lewes and Rehoboth Beach for the past 69 years. They include theBoy Scouts, Lewes and Rehoboth Beach:iibraries, Cape Henlopen and Lewes senior centers, Children's Beach House, Lewes-Rehoboth Meals on Wheels, Rehoboth Art League and the Sussex Family YMCA. For 48 of those years, the prin- cipal fundralsing activity has been the Maurice Stein Memorial Auc- tion. The Stein family and Stuart Kingston Galleries, with a loca- tion on the Boardkalk near the Henlopen Hotel, provide generous contributions of merchandise and professional expertise as auction- eers for the event. Last year more than'100 busi- nesses contributed merchandise to help the Kiwanis Club raiso the necessary funding to continue its work in the community. They in- clude: Atlantic View Motel, Dewey. available for six women. There is Truvy Jones, a 40ash owner of the beauty shop where it all takes place, and her assistant, 19-year old Annelle Depuy-Desoto. There is Clairee Belcher, the upper 60ash widow of a former mayor and the town's grand dame. The prettiest girl in town is 25 year-old Shelby Eatenton-Latcherie, and her moth- er, the 50-something M'Lynn Eat- enton, a socially prominent career worfian.
