Completion is expected by early summer, with the grand opening of the course scheduled for spring of 2006. "We couldn't be more pleased at how well everything is coming to- gether and the course looks ab- solutely amazing," said Larry Goldstein, developer of The Peninsula. "I am now anxiously awaiting Jack's next visit so we can sneak in a few holes and really get a feel for the Course." Although the course will be completed later this summer, Goldstein has made a decision to hold off on the opening until spring of 2006 so the course has time to mature. "I am pleased that Larry and his team decided to open the golf course in 2006 after it has been al- lowed to mature," said Jack Nick- lang. "As the construction phase of the course at The Peninsula draws to a close, it is gratifying to know that Larry has allowed our connection. The high-speed inter- net service offers data connection speed starting at five megabits per second, which is greater than most home services offered by competitors today and compara- ble to the rates used by major businesses. "At The Peninsula, we are com- mitted to providing our valued homebuyers with the most sophis- ticated communications solutions available in today's broadband so- ciety," said Goldstein. "In thls era where high-speed internet con- nections have become an essential element in modem wired commu- nications, we are proud to offer each resident in our community the opportunity to utilize Veri zon's state-of-the-art service." The FIq'P project is part of the myriad of amenities featured in each Peninsula home. Additional high-class amenities in the interi- or of the homes include security devices, plasma television screens and sound systems. The gourmet kitchens will be decked with granite counter tops and all other staples of luxury custom-built homes. The course construction crew at The Peninsula has been working hard to finish shaping and grassing holes 1, 2, 3, 10 and 11. The prac- tice facility, which is more than 350 yards in length, will be the last thing to be seeded. Once the facil- ity opens, the practice facility will feature putting greens, hunkers, chipping areas and tees specifical- ly for private lessons. This 18-hole, par 72 private Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course is set on the community's nearly 800 acres of Atlantic coastal terrain. This masterfully designed course, featuring seven holes that hug the scenic water- front, will be the centerpiece of The Peninsula community, and will provide challenging play for golfers of every age and skill lev- el. Laced with lakes, ponds and creeks, studded with woods, and surrounded by water and protected green space, The Peninsula's 243 acres of world-class golf offers distinctive panoramas that can on- ly be found along the eastern coastline of the Delmarva Penin- sula. The highlight of this course is the 18th hole, a par 5 dogleg left around the water that Nicklaus claims will be the Pebble Beach of the East Coast. "Larry has allowed us to take advantage of the site's natural beauty along the Indian River Bay and Lingo Creek, which will cre- ate a golf course experience that is unique, and at the same time, is not adversely affected by the resi- dential component of the project but in fact, enhances it," said Nicklaus. 'q'his is truly the best of both worlds." the country and the first in Delaware. The service will be preinstalled in the 1,400 homes currently under development within the community. The fiber- optic network is an economic, all- glass distribution system that makes the connection simple to execute as soon as the customer orders the broadband service. Fiber-optic networking allows for exceptional reliability and effi- ciency and is easy to upgrade and enhance. The use of fiber optics is especially beneficial for allow- ing telecommuters and home- based business owners to connect with business associates, family and friends at a rapid speed, thus providing more leisure time for themselves. "Our goal at Verizon is to pro- vide the most advanced commu- nications network available to provide users unmatched network dependability, incredible speed and infinite potential for voice, data and video connections," said Verizon Communications Vice President William F. Wallace. "Our FTTP project has bolstered the advancement of hi-tech com- munications systems in the house- : hold and will provide homeown- ers like those at The Peninsula ef- ficiency and convenience."
