CAPE GAZEq[q[, Friday, June 26 - July 2, 1998 - 75 [_):SO to perform Cape Concert in Lewes With fireworks to light up the night and music to light up the soul, the Delaware Symphony will present its annual Cape Concert at the University of Delaware's 1998 Summer Arts Festival in Lewes on Saturday, June 11. Music director Stephen Gun- zenhauser will conduct and the Lancaster Cannon Co. will fire its 16 vintage cannons during the playing of the "1812 Overture." A fireworks display will con- clude the evening. The symphony performance is sponsored by PNC Bank. The raindate for the perfor- mance is Sunday, July 12, at the same time and place. A presymphony concert by the Sin City Band will begin the evening at 5:30 p.m.; audience members are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs and a picnic or to purchase dinner on the grounds. Tentative program for the sym- phony includes the "Royal Fire- works Music," the "Fort Delaware March," Billy Joel music, "Yes- terday," by the Beatles and a med- ley from "A Chorus Line." Advance tickets for the Cape Concert are $12 for adults and $6 for children 12 and under. Tickets purchased the day of the concert are $14 for adults and $8 for children under 12. Patron seating is available by calling 855-1620. Advance tickets are available at the Lewes Chamber of Commerce office, 120 Kings Highway; at all UD box offices in Newark; and at the university's southern Delaware offices at 69 Trans- portation Circle in Dover and Route 18 at the Carter Partnership Center in Georgetown. Tickets may be charged with MasterCard or Visa by calling 855-1620. The Lynns are one of four acts to perform at the Country Music Fest in Lewes. The Country Music Fest will begin at 6 p.m., Thursday, July 9, at the University of Delaware's College of Marine Studies in Lewes. The concert is being pre- sented by Froggy 99.9, Pepsi and Comcast. Tickets for the concert can be purchased from the University of Delaware's Georgetown office at Delaware Tech or the Dover of- fice at 69 Transportation Circle. Visa and MasterCard orders will be taken at the Georgetown office. Tickets are also available at the Lewes Chamber of Commerce. For more information, call 855- 1620 or 628-3789.
