CAPE GAZETTE, Friday, June 26 - July 2, 1998 - 79 The following movies are now playing in the resort area: Out of Sight - Convict George Clooney gets down-and- dirty with G-girl Jennifer Lopez in this adaptation of an Elmore Leonard book. Rated R. Doctor Dolittle - For those who never tire of movies in which animals have more lines than hu- mans, "Doctor Dolittle" stars Ed- die Murphy in the lead role as a storybook doctor ,who discovers he can talk to animals. Several other funny and furry principal characters are also featured. Rat- ed PG-13. Mulan - The latest Disney an- imated feature about Mulan, a Chinese girl who answers her ail- ing father&apos;s draft notice and be- comes a warrior against the Hun hordes Rated G. The X-Files: Fight the Fu- ture - Mulder and Scully bring their TV roles to the big screen, taking "'The Truth's Out There" to a new level. The top-secret FBI plot also includes Martin Landau, Blythe Danner and Armin Mueller-Stahl. Check out the Web site at <www. foxmovies.com>. Rated PG- 13. Can't Hardly Wait - Jennifer Love Hewitt, of "Party of Five" fame, is a teen heartthrob and its the high school party-of-a-life- time. Before dawn, there will be many secrets exposed and many a heart broken. Also features Lau- ren Ambrose and Ethan Embry. Rated PG- 13. Six Days, Seven Nights - Anne Heche is a bigtime maga- zine editor who hires pilot Harri- son Ford to take her in pursuit of a giant scoop. Her plans are foiled when a crash and an ensuing ro- mance get in the way. Rated R. Dirty Work - A couple of losers decide they can make a pretty good living becoming avengers-for-hire. Stars Norm Macdonald, Chevy Chase and Don Rickles. Rated PG- ! 3. A Perfect Murder - A re- make of Hitchcock's classic, "Di- al M for Murder," this version fea- tures Michael Douglas as a hus- band who arranges for the murder of his wife (Gwyneth Paltrow). Rated R. The Truman Show - Touted as the "Forrest Gump" of '98, "The Truman Show" stars Jim Carrey as the title character, who is the unwitting subject of a televi- sion documentary that catches every aspect of his life. Rated PG. Hope Floats - After she's publicly dissed by her husband on a nationally syndicated talk show, single mom Sandra Bullock re- turns to her rural roots with her young daughter and falls head over heels for former flame Harry Connick Jr. Rated PG- ! 3. The Horse Whisperer - Golden boy Robert Redford di- rects and stars in the screen adap- tation of Nicholas Evans' award- winning novel. Redford is a cow- boy who knows just what to whis- per to an unruly horse and its mar- ried owner (Kristin Scott Thomas). Sam Neill and Scarlett Johansson are also featured. Rat- ed PG-13. Deep Impact - Robert Duvall and Morgan Freeman head up the cast of this thinking person's as- teroid disaster flick. Just in time for the summer movie rush, "Deep Impact" is based on the 1951 film "When Worlds Collide" and a 1932 Philip Wylie novel. Direct- ed by Mimi Leder, the science fic- tion/fantasy film also features Tea Leoni, Elijah Wood and Vanessa Redgrave. Rated R. Titanic: Director James Cameron, leading lady Kate Winslet and supporting actress Gloria Stuart (making a stellar comeback from her days as a star- let of '40s films) each earned Os- car nominations for this whale- sized "Best Picture" Oscar win- ner. Of course, we'd be remiss not to mention the leading man, Leonardo DiCaprio, who makes this an unsinkable best bet at the helm of the box office. Rated PG- 13. Exhibit deadline for State Fair is July 1 Anyone planning to take part in a competitive exhibit at this year's Delaware State Fair must enter by Wednesday, July 1. Details on the fair's contests and exhibits are in the "1998 Exhibitor's Handbook." They are available free of charge while supplies last at the University of Delaware Cooperative Extension Service offices, located on Route 9 in Georgetown. A limited number of handbooks have also been distributed to all Delaware public libraries, a select group of craft supply stores and at the fair office in Harrington. Delaware State Fair to hold senior talent contest Seniors ages 60 and older are invited to participate in the first Delaware Senior Talent Competition at the Delaware State Fair. The event is sponsored by Greenwood Trust Company; trophies and cash prizes will be awarded.
