Eden Garden Cafe has creative menu, inviting atmosphere in its newly expanded setting Opened last year in Rehoboth Beach, the Eden Garden Care has become well known for its creative salads, pastas and sandwiches. Situated on the sec- ond block of Rehoboth Avenue, the newly expanded establishment continues to receive positive feed- back. Eden now features many new menu items and a savvy new bar. Proprietor Rob Stitt said the changes have been met with a positive response from both locals and visitors. Eden's optimum location, combined with an inviting ambience and a modestly priced and diverse menu, make it an asset to downtown Rehoboth Beach. The cafe features outdoor courtyard seating as well as inside seating. New fixtures and colorful murals also enhance the atmosphere. Stitt and Executive Chef Tom Sifley have com- bined forces to create lunch and dinner menus. While the lunch offerings still feature a clever array of salads, sandwiches and fresh pastas, Eden's new dinner menu has an appetizing offering of affordable appetizers, salads, sandwiches and entrdes. You' 11 want to start off lunch with a bowl of spicy gazpacho or tasty bruschetta appetizer, then get ready to explore, the rest of the menu. Eden features five different varieties on its lunch and dinner menu, including a tossed salad, an organ- ic salad, Caesar salad, a spinach salad and Eden's Cobb Salad (grilled chicken, black beans, jack cheese, onions, tomatoes, corn, cucumbers, sprouts and avocado with a cumin vinaigrette). Eden's unique and tasty bison burger, pesto- stuffed and served with Gorgonzola cheese, plum tomatoes and romaine lettuce with chipotle ketchup, is a popular choice, while the island jerk turkey burger, with cilantro-lime sour cream, man- go salsa and Anaheim pepper (best when enjoyed with a cold Red Stripe beer), is also full of flavor and personality. The establishment also boasts an array of pastas with fresh sauces, including a red sauce made with slowly simmered plum tomatoes and fresh herbs; primavera; wild mushroom with spinach, pancetta and a splash of cream; and a mixed seafood sauce of mussels, clams, shrimp and calamari. Patrons have a choice of angel hair, linguini or penne pasta. At dinner, Eden still has its creative offering of salads and sandwiches with a host of new appetizers, pastas and entres. Appetizers include Margarita Shrimp, saut&xl in margarita sauce and served over crisp plantains and baby greens, and satay of chicken with a spicy peanut sauce. Eden's signature "Going Nuts" sauce, with pesto, pinenuts, pecans, walnuts and almonds, and roasted eggplant with chicken, broccoli, chopped tomatoes and an herbed walnut ricotta, have also made the dinner menu. A welcome addition to the Eden Garden Cafe menu are its entr6es, which are not only appetizing but surprisingly affordable. Priced between $14 and $17, selections include wasabi- and sesame-crusted tuna and grilled salmon served with a Thai red curry sauce. Daily specials are also featured. Eden now offers a comprehensive wine list to accompany its menu. The cafe's full bar includes a wide selection of wines, by the bottle and glass, as well as 16 different bottled beers and three beers on tap. Stitt said he plans to offer happy hour from 4 to 6 p.m. beginning in July. Eden Garden Cafe: 122 Rehoboth Ave. (next to South Moon Under).
