Courtyard Homes At Plantations Make Wonderful Residence Milton letter carrier derivers a million safe miles By Rosanne Pack Few people can negotiate 30 years of average driving without at least a minor mix-up with an- other car or a worrisome station- ary object, such as a tree or dump- ster; however, Milton letter carrier Donald Carey drives a mail vehi- cle for a living and he has traveled 1 million miles without an acci- dent. His accomplishment was recog- nized at a breakfast this week where he was honored with the National Safety Council's Million Mile Club Safe Driver Award. He received a trophy, a plaque, sever- al certificates and a wallet-sized gold Million Mile Club card that he can frame or carry. Sally Boudart, manager of post office operations for Delaware, at- tended the breakfast and praised Carey for establishing an excel- lent record in spite of weather-re- lated and traffic obstacles associ- ated with mail delivery. The letter carrier is in his 30th year of driving for the postal ser- vice, and his spotless record at- tracted the attention of Milton Postmaster Nate Sampson.
