American Legion Post 17 cancels shrimp feed Due to the annual American Le- gion state convention on July 12, the shrimp feed will not be held that Saturday at American Legion Post 17 on Lewes Beach. It will return on Saturday, July 19. graduate of .:,._Cape Hen- lopen High School, is the son of Gil and Janice York of-Milton and the grandson of Eva York of Milton and Roger and YORK Laura ,Dor- man of Berlin, Md. York will con- tinue his training at Camp Lejune. Membership renewal at Millsboro Lib rm It's renewal time for members of the Friends of the Millsboro Li- brary. This organization has raised $50,000 for the creation of the - new library and its success is based upon the enthusiasm Of its members. Yearly dues are: stu- dent, $1; individual, $5; family, $10; and organization, $15. Dues can be paid at the library or sent to the Friends of the Mills- bore Library, P.O. Box 40, Mills- bore, DE 19966. The Friends group is also looking for volun- teers to assist on Big Thursday. Items still for sale include the _Millsboro afghan, Millsboro base- ball cap, sports bottles, baskets, shirts, pillows, and Open Win- dows reproductions of local land- marks. SATURDAY, JULY 12th, 4:00 PM ON SITE RAIN OR SHINE ANGOLA, DELAWARE Lot U51 & U52 "Poplar Drive" Miss Cape Pageant seeks contestants Young women between the ages of 17 and 24 who are in pursuit of scholarship money to further their education are invited to consider running for the title of Miss Cape Henlopen in the scholarship pageant. The pageant is set for Aug. 14 and will be held in Re- hoboth Beach. Participants will be judged in talent, swimsuit and in- terview skills. The winner will compete for the title of Miss Delaware 1998 and the chance to win up to $10,000 in scholarship funds. Interested women should contact Connie Groll at 945-9633 or 645-2833. Cape Senior Center plans trips The Cape Henlopen Senior Center is offering a trip to the Shorebirds game on Tuesday, Aug. 12. The cost of $20 includes round-trip bus transportation and box seats at the stadium. The cen- ter will also sponsor a trip to At- lantic City on Tuesday, Aug. 19. The cost of $25 includes round- trip ferry fare, round-trip bus transportation from the ferry to Atlantic City and a casino pack- age worth about $20.
