The program is designed to give performers a chance to develop their skills by working with the professional staff of RSCT. The participants will rehearse over two days with writer/director Steve Seyfrjed, and then perform with Seyfried and his wife, Elise, in the theatre's production of "'Alice in Wonderland." There will be four weekly sessions from July 16 through Aug. 6. Each" session in- volves two days of two-hour re- hearsals and will include exercises in characterization, vocal tech- nique, stage movement and pac- ing. The fee to participate is $35. "We have been conducting workshops for ages 5-12 for sev- eral years now. It's a very natural step for us to offer a program for the kids who have advanced be- yond that series," said Seyfried. "We're looking forward to giving these performers a chance to shine." In working with Seyfried, the participants will be tapping.into his 20 years of experience with theatre for youth. He has written 26 scripts and logged over 200 performances a year since found- ing Duet Production in 1980. He has worked with children in both long and short-term workshops. Seyfried has also been an artist-in- residence in many schools throughout Pennsylvania and Delaware.
