ing to the book's jacket.
Evans, who now lives in Ari-
zona, says prayer works. He will
be at Books By the Bay on Sec-
ond Street in Lewes for a book
signing from 9 a.m. to noon on
Saturday, July 22.
It will be like old home week
for the Lewes High School grad-
uate and local athlete who is here
visiting his sister and a number of
friends.
Evans writes in the book's
preface that "my heart's desire is
to have you, the reader moved
from thinking about prayer, read-
ing about prayer (including this
book) and talking about prayer, to
praying."
Asked about the power of
prayer, Evans says that "when we
pray, God's hands move into ac-
tion."
He speaks of the freshness and
beauty of prayer, finding it diffi-
cult to describe the sweetness of
the feeling. But he says that
"there isn't anything that I have
needed except that God has pro-
vided it...If I have a need, I take it
to God."

The book is filled with stories
of people who believe that their
prayers were answered, stories
ranging from the child who rolled
out of a car door into traffic and
was unscathed to the African mis-
sionary who heard children pray
for help keeping the infants
warm.
