opening of the new Sharp Living

years and knew at a young age
that he wanted to own a restau-
rant.
"Ever since I was a child of five
or six, I said I was going to own a
restaurant. I followed my
dreams," Robinson said. "I tried
to open another pub five years
ago," said Robinson, "but the
town wasn't allowing more liquor
licenses."
Robinson fulfilled a dream and
opened his restaurant in Dewey
Beach, on July 1, easily one of the
busiest days of the entire season.
"We opened with no advertis-
ing," Robinson said. "People
have just walked in and each day
the business picks up. Locals say,
'this is going to be our spot.' This
is what we want. We want this to
be a local, casual restaurant and
pub that appeals to all age
groups."
McShea's menu reflects Robin-
son's desire to please as many
people as possible. The kitchen is
run by General Manager Jimmy
Burroughs, who met Robinson
through a venture in Fenwick Is-
land three years ago.
Burroughs has been in the
restaurant business in the Ocean
City area for the past 25 years. "I
started as a bartender and got tired
cent months, having opened a
Sharp Living by Chesapeake
store in Dover, and launching the
Sharp Living Mobile Kiosk, a
showroom on wheels that travels
throughout the peninsula visiting
communities, special events and
trade shows. Sharp Energy is the
propane distribution subsidiary of
Chesapeake Utilities Corporation,
headquartered in Dover.
"We are so pleased to be open-
of it," said Burroughs. "I taught
myself to cook - working the back
of the house; you watch and you
learn." McShea's menu includes:
soups, salads - five types of Cae-
sar salad, a raw bar, lite fare such
as wings, nachos, sandwiches and
burgers. The menu also offers en-
trees which feature hand-cut
steaks served on sizzling hot plat-
ters and homemade jumbo lump
crabeakes which" a lot of people
are raving about," said Robinson.
"There's no filler it's all jumbo
lump crab meat."
McShea's also offers a chil-
dren's menu.
Robinson and Burroughs plan
to offer food and drink specials
throughout the season and off-
season. Weekday food specials
include: Monday night from 6
p.m. until close, 25 cent wings;
Tuesday is one pound night - one
pound of steamed shrimp or snow
crab clusters will be offered at re-
duced prices; Wednesday night is
half-price burger night and Thurs-
day night is buy one entree and
get the second one for half price.
In addition, McShea's fresh catch
will change daily.
McShea's is a full-service
restaurant but the bar is the focal
point of the pub, a stunning 24
foot masterpiece by JJS corpora-
tion of Lewes. The bar is con-
structed of red oak and was milled
in Lewes, as was the rest of the
