90 - CAPE GAZETI, Friday, July 14 - July 20, 2000 Foot Light presents 'Return to Broadway' at Lamp Post Foot Light Productions will present "Return to Broadway," a musical revue, at the dinner the- ater in the Lamp Post Seafood Restaurant in Rehoboth in July and August. The show features some of the greatest Broadway songs over the last 70 years, including "42nd Street," "Summertime," "Nice Work If You Can Get It," "Peo- ple," "Matchmaker, Matchmak- er," "Mame," "Memories" and more. Foot Light has assembled an impressive cast for this new pro- duction. Returning for his third season with Foot Light is Joe Scaturro of Lewes. Scaturro, orig- inally from New Jersey, has been singing since he was a teenager and is an audience favorite. Becki Polk of Milford has been singing since the age of three and has appeared for many years at the Jewel Box Theater in Okla- homa City. She has also acted with community theater groups in the area. Margaret Haas of Lewes has been an active member of Foot Light over the past three years. She has appeared in musical mur- der mysteries on the Queen Anne's Railroad in Lewes, and has performed in such produc- tions as "Godspell," "Best Little Whorehouse," and "South Pacif- ic." Making her debut with Foot Light is Tara McCredie of Lewes. McCredie, a professionally trained vocalist, is a 1999 gradu- ate of Cape Henlopen High School and was very much in- volved with the school's theater department. She has used her so- prano voice for the role of Anna from "The King and I," and Tzeit- el from "Fiddler on the Roof." She has also attended several vo- cal academies during her high school years and performed in a master class with Dixie Carter. She is a sophomore majoring in vocal performance at Catholic University of America in Wash- ington. Another newcomer to Foot Light is Kit Stewart of Dover. He was the former singer/drummer and front man for the East Coast - based national recording stars "The Kit Kats." Stewart has per- formed in the largest concert halls in the United States, including the Spectrum in Philadelphia and Freedom Hall in Louisville, Ky. He is the host of the Comcast tele- vision show "Young at Heart," which features talented senior and youthful performers. "Return to Broadway" is direct- ed by Tom Sweeney of Lewes. Sweeney has directed many the- atrical productions, such as "Fid- dler on the Roof, .... Steel Magno- lias" and "The Importance of Be- ing Earnest." Producer for this show is John Warrener of Lewes, and the choreographer is Laurie Bireley of Salisbury, Md. Performances of "Return to Broadway" will be given July 19, 26 and Aug. 2. Seating begins at 5 p.m., with the show starting at 7:30 p.m. The price of $35 includes the buffet dinner, show and gratuity. A cash bar is available. Discounts are available for large groups.
