Minner to chair annual event The 15th annual Beach & Bay Tour to benefit the Friends of the South Coastal Library will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday, July 26-27. Gov. Ruth Ann Minner is once again serving as the hon- orary chairman of this popular event. This year's tour offers an unusuat and exciting array of homes. Participants will visit two homes in South Shore Marina that sit beside the Indian River Inlet. one MeditelTanean in style and the other contemporary and beachy. Two beautifully decorated homes on the tour are located in Bay Colony, one near the community marina and one near Cripple Creek golf course. Featured houses m between include a serene bayside home in Ocean Ridge West and a warm and charmirg oceanside home in Ocean Village in North Bethany as well as a restored historic home in Ocean View. To round out the tour. there are a stunningly remod- eled lakefront home in Lake Bethany and two wonderful canal front homes in Salt Pond. These homes vary in size. affordabilitv-and architectural and furnishing styles. Visitors may tour all 10 homes on one day, or spread the viewing over the two days of the tour. A limited number of tickets will be sold for the 2006 tour. The tour has been a sell-out since 2000 and ticket sales are running ahead of previous years, so the Friends strongly recommend reserving tickets now at $25 each. Tour participants will receive a special tour tote bag with copies of Chesapeake Home and Delaware Beach Life magazines along with the program booklet which serves as the ticket. Surgical booties, donated by Beebe Medical Center, to be worn in all the homes over shoes or bare feet, will be available at the homes. Tickets are now available at the South Coastal Library at 43 Kent Avenue in Bethany Beach. Tickets are also available at the Bethany- Fenwick Chamber of Commerce in Fenwick: at Japanesque. Perfect Furnishings, Rose Garden and Sea Needles in Bethany; at Mc Cabes in South Bethany; at Carolina Street and Southern Exposure in Fenwick: and at Browseabout Books in Rehoboth. On the days of the tour, any available tickets will be at the South Coastal Library only. Children under 12 and babies are not permitted in the tour homes. The popular Dinner for Two Raffle for 2006 will feature prizes at some of the beach area's most popular restaurants. Winners will dine at the Den at Bear Trap Dunes. DiFebo's. Magnolia's, Oak Arbor Inn. The Parkway Restaurant or Sedona. For this year's Special Art Raffle, the tour will be offering artwork from R0seann Cialella, Aubre Duncan, Carol Dyer. Dorothy Harrison-Braun and Laura Hickman. All raffle tickets are $1 each or six for $5. They are on sale at the library and will be available at selected homes on the days of the tour.
