30 - CAPE GAZETTE, Friday, July 28 - Aug. 3, 2000 Trap Pond State Park's new cabins add a new dimension to camping out By Jim Cresson Trap Pond State Park, the second oldest and sec- ond largest state park in Delaware, is reinforcing its vast natural area campgrounds with the addition of cabins and yurts as part of its overall camping attrac- tions. Located on Route 24 west of Millsboro, the 2,109- acre Trap Pond State Park was first developed in the 1930s by the federal government's Civilian Conser- vation Corps and became a state park in 1951. Set amid one of the last remaining stands of bald cypress, Trap Pond is host to many animal species and flowering plants.
