Sussex County Safe Kids Day
activities will focus attention on
the solutions to prevent childhood
injuries. Needless to say, every-
one needs to do as much as they
can at home, in schools, day care
centers, recreational programs,
places of work and in communi-
ties to address the issues.
The theme for this year's event
is "Gear Up for Safety." The
'Gear Up Games' will be a fun
and educational safety experience
that will teach childhood injury
prevention by practical exercises.
Participants will also learn from
dynamic speakers, exhibits, pup-
pet shows, costumed characters
and demonstrations. Activities in-
clude fingerprinting, safety town,
clowns, hot air balloon, pony and
little train rides, a petting zoo and
youth entertainment. This year's
event will also feature a magician
whose presentation is titled "I Am
a 10." He will instill strong, posi-
tive feelings of self-esteem, self-
worth and family values in his
young audiences.
Other activities include a 911
high demo, a lawn equipment
safety skit, Millsboro's Fire Safe-
ty House, children's garden, sev-
eral rides, face painting and much
more.
