34 - CAPE GAZETTE, Friday, August I - August 7, 1997 Church chedule Church Notes Carey's Camp continues near Millsboro The 109th annual session of Carey's Camp is being held through Sunday, Aug. 10 at the campground on Road 421, just off Route 24, five miles west of Millsboro. Evangelistic services are being held each evening at 7:30 p.m., with special music and speakers. Barry Townsend will bring the message on July 31 and Hearts A Fire from Milford will furnish the music. Friday and Saturday, Aug. 1-2, the Rev. Ray Britton will bring the message and The Triumphants of Salisbury, Md. will sing Friday, with The Searchers Quartet of Chesapeake, Va., on Saturday. There will be a Love Feast at 10 a.m., Sunday, Aug. 3, with Cliff Revel, and a 1"30 p.m. Sunday School with Dawn Shoemaker. The evangelistic service will be at 7:30 p.m., with the Rev. Francis Wilson and the Refuge Ministries from Port Deposit, Md. Monday begins with Vacation Bible School for everyone at 10 a.m., each morning through Friday, with Evalyn Jicha. On Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 4-5, the Rev. Dewey Crockett will bring the message at 7:30 p.m., with music by Spirit Sealed from Belair, Md., on Monday and by Prophets of Praise from Rock Hall, Md., on Tuesday. The Rev. Jim Scott will be the evangelist Wednesday, Aug. 6 with The Grace Notes from Dagsboro singing. The Rev. Jim Langrall will bring the message Thursday, Aug. 7, with the Lights of Home from Laurel singing. Friday evening, Aug. 8 at 6 p.m., there will be a Vacation Bible School closing program in the Tabernacle with all children participating. At 7:30 p.m., the evangelist will be the Rev. Dr. Bruce Revel with the Cash Family from Felton providing the music. The Rev. Tim Dukes will bring the message Saturday, Aug. 9, and again Sunday, Aug. 10, with The Epworth Quartet furnishing music both nights. Sunday, Aug. 10 will begin with a Love Feast with Jake West. Bill Mcllvain will teach Sunday School at 1:30 p.m. There will be youth services beginning Monday, Aug. 4 and continuing through Sunday, Aug. 10, at 6:15 p.m., with youth directors Debbie and Rick O'Neal. Gus Watson, coordinator of the prayer vigil each evening at 7 p.m., invites everyone to meet in the sanctuary for prayer. The Rev. Theodore Elser is pastor of Carey's Church, with Kenneth Dodd as director of camp, Charlie Haddock, song leader, .and Roger Brown, pianist. There is a eonfeetionary, where candy, ice ream and sodas are sold, and a boarding tent where home-cooked platters are served each evening at 5 p.m. For more information, call 856-7530 or 934-7665. Vacation Bible Schools set for resort All children ages pre-kindergarten through grade six are invited to join the "friendship flight this summer at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior Vacation Bible School, from 9 to 11:30 a.m., Aug. 11-15. The "friendship flight" will be a flight into Bible stories, crafts and songs, and all area children can earn their "wings" with Jesus as the pilot. The church is at 7 Bay Vista Road, Rehoboth. Call 227-3066. Conley's United Methodist Church will hold its Vacation Bible School Aug. 11-15 with the theme "Promise Builders for Jesus." Kids age five to teen will learn about God's powerful promises, by reading Bible stories, making Crafts and singing. Dinner is erved at 6 p.m., nightly and the program ends at 8:30 p.m. A concluding celebration wil be held at 9 a.m., Aug. 17. All children are invited.
