Dine" m,' out or delivery available from Nio00la's in Rehoboth Beach Nicola Pizza has built up a loyal following since its opening in 197i and continues to win over new fans. Located on North First Street in Rehoboth Beach, the unpretentious, friendly establishment is the brainchild of Nick and Joan Caggiano, whose venture has been featured in national publications. Theirs has been defined as the best pizza in the east and loyal customers return again and again for the personalized service as well. Nick Jr. has become his parents' right hand man over recent years and attributes this loyalty to "the hearth brick oven deck, which imparts that unique flavor There's just no comparison," he said honest- ly. What really put Nicola Pizza on the map was the Nic-O-Boli, introduced in 1975. A home-baked concoction usually containing ground beef, pizza sauce and cheese folded in pizza dough, it has often been imitated, but never duplicated. Some prefer the Nic-O-Boli meatless; others like lots of extra toppings. The Nic-O-Boli is so popular that Nicola's added the Nic-Spin-Oli (with sauce, spinach and cheese) and the Nic-E-Bolito ( a Mexican-style boli with chicken, cheese, jalapefio peppers, lettuce and toma- to). "Our dough is fat free and so is the sauce," Nick Jr. explained, noting that there are heart healthy offerings which are increasingly popular as well. Nicola's spaghetti and meatballs are now avail- able in the Pasta Pails - five servings of spaghetti and meatballs or chicken filets, accompanied by homemade rolls. Other pasta dishes now available include ziti and stuffed shells. The sandwich menu has expanded to include meatball, chicken parmesan, tuna melt and sausage sandwiches, with salads and soups available as well. Nicola's has even added French fries to the menu. The white pizza is offered with a variew of toppings and half-baked pizzas are available for take out along with Nic-O-Bolis. Every Tuesday features all pasta dishes on the menu at half price all day long. Another innovation is the Nicola Gift Pail, a wrapped canister filled with three jars of Mama Nicola's Sugo Sauce (made and canned right on the premises), a pound of pasta and a checkered cloth. The Gift Pail, priced at $14.95, is the perfect holi- day gift idea. Nicola's will host a Christmas party on Tuesday, Dec. 17. Guests will not only be able to take advan- tage of half price pasta night, but will be entertained by an electric keyboardist and a visit by Santa. Nieola Pizza: North First Street, Rehoboth Beach.
