30 - CAPE GAZETTE, Friday, August 5 - August 11, 1994 Health Day by Bay set Aug. 11 at Long Neck Health Day by the Bay, the third annual Long Neck Health Fair, is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 11 from I0 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., at Bay Walk Marina at Pot Nets. More than 30 participating organiza- tions will be featured, according to fair coordinators Paul and Kitty Hewett of Tunnell Communities. Health screenings include: Low cost mammograms by Mammography of Delaware Aug. 10-11; advance appointments required; call 1-800-654-0606; Hearing screenings by Milford Memorial Hospital; call 945-9300 for appointment; Skin cancer screenings by Medical Center of Delaware Can- cer Outreach Program; call 945- 9300 for appointment; Glucose screenings by Beebe Medical Center; Glaucoma screenings and visions activities by the Delaware Eye Care Center; Pulmonary function test by Nanticoke Memorial Hospital; Children's height and weight by Sussex County Health Unit; Blood pressure checks by the Visiting Nurses Association of Delaware; Postural exams by Lewes Chi- ropractic Center; Safety demonstrations include: Courtesy marine exam by the Coast Guard Auxiliary; Canine unit of the Delaware State Police, 11 a.m.; Fire safety by the Delaware State Fire School, 1 p.m.; Playground safety by the Vis- iting Nurses Association of Delaware, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.; Golf cart safety by Tunnell Security, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Entertainment is also planned throughout the day. Square dance demonstrations are set for 10 a.m. by the Sussex Shore Senior Square; line dancing at 12 noon by the Georgetown Cheer Liners; and throughout the event, organ music by Betty Gray, as well as face painting and the Cheer Up Clowns. Food concessions will be available. Along with those offering screenings and demonstrations, exhibitors include Adult Plus, Delaware Electric Co-op, Divi- sion of Aging, American Heart Association, Easter Seal Technol- ogy Resources Center, Office of Highway Safety, AARP, Delaware Hospice, Delaware Senior Olympics, American Dia- betes Association, Sussex Chap- ter, Dental Hygiene Association, Evergreen II Alzheimer Day Treatment, Mid-Sussex Rescue Squad, Delaware Cooperative Extension and American Cancer Society.
