38 - CAPE GAZETrE, Friday, August 5 - August 11, 1994 Local artist receives award Cape Region artist dulie Molyneux was presented an award for her painting, "Rose Is a Rose," on June 19 at Turner Audi- torium, Johns Hopkins University Hospital, by the Baltimore Watercolor Society, during a reception for their 1994 Mid.At- lantic Regional Watercolor Exhibition. The award included a Certificate of Excellence and a sketch box valued at $200. Molyneux expects to be exhibiting "Rose Is a Rose" at the Re- hoboth Art League's 56th Annual Members' Fine Arts Exhibi- tion, which will be on display from July 22 through Aug. 27. Lewes author to sign books Aug. 13 The Friends of Milton Public Library have announced that Ed Dee of Lewes, author of "14 Peck Slip", will be signing his book at Bargains on the Broadkill on Saturday, Aug. 13. Dee is a former New York City police officer and his murder mystery novel is set in New York. He now has a masters degree in writing, with his story revolving around organized crime in the Big Apple. Dee and his novel have been featured in the Cape Gazette. The Friends of the Milton Public Library are now accepting advance orders for "14 Peck Slip" at the library for $19.95 each. Buyers can receive and have the books signed by the author at the Friends booth during BargainS between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., with all pro- ceeds benefiting the Milton Public Library. Here's a sampling of the fol- lowing movies now playing in the resort area: Airheads: Comedy about a trio of struggling heavy metal mu- sicians who, demanding more air- play for their music, take a Los Angeles radio station hostage. Stars Brendan Fraser, Steve Buscemi, Adam Dandier, Joe Mantegna and Michael McKean. Rated PC. Clear and Present Danger: "Hunt for Red October" and "Pa- triot Games" hero Jack Ryan, now helping to combat the Latin American drug trade as acting deputy director of the CIA, finds himself at odds with the White House when he discovers that a wealthy friend of the president's is linked to a murderous cocaine cartel. Based on the book by Tom Clancy. Stars Harrison Ford, Anne Archer, Thora Birch and James Earl Jones. Rated PC-13. The Little Rascals: Alfalfa runs afoul of Spanky, Buckwheat, Petey and the rest of the members of the He-Man Women Haters Club when begins to take an inter- est in the opposite sex. Based on the 1930s comedy shorts pro- duced by Hal Roach, but set in the 1990s. Stars Daryl Hannah and Whoopi Goldberg, along with a host of children actors. Rated PC. It Could Happen to You: Romantic comedy about a transit cop who discovers he doesn't have enough money for a tip, so he gives a coffee shop waitress half of a New York state lottery ticket that later turns out to be worth $4 million. North: Following his wry re- turn to acting in "Sleepless in Seattle," Rob Reiner gets back be- hind the camera for this family film about an ll-year-old boy (Elijah Wood) who divorces his folks and embarks on a search for perfect parents. Also stars Bruce Willis, Jon Lovitz and Julia Louis- Dreyfus. Rated PC. The Client: Author John Grissom is the source of this thriller about a young boy who witnesses a suicide and deathbed confession that makes him a target for the mob. Susan Sarandon plays the beautiful lawyer who comes to his rescue. Co-stars Tommy Lee Jones. Rated R. Forrest Cutup: Tom Hanks stars as the childlike title charac- ter, who sits on a bus bench and regales passers-by with tales of his adventures as an All-American football player, a decorated war hero and a prosperous business- man. Co-stars Sally Field, Robin Wright and Gary Sinise. Rated PC-13. Angels in the Outfield: Dis- ney is looking for a family-style home run with this remake of the 1950s classic about a hapless team of big leaguers who start to win with some heavenly help. Stars Danny Glover, Tony Danza and Christopher Lloyd. Rated PG.
