Downtown Business Association (RBDBA)
effective Aug. 1, it was announced by John

A graduate of Cape Henlopen High School
with a bachelor of arts degree in liberal arts

state grant writing to procure program funding,
and has been involved in all phases of the me-

"This area spawned me - I have so many
great memories of teachers at Cape and I love
the people of this area. In fact, I went to school
with many of the businesspeople here," Lott
said.
RBDBA secretary Patty Derrick noted, "We
are excited to have quickly filled the vacancy
with such a qualified person - Lee is an answer
to all of our prayers, coming to us with great
experience and knowledge in her field. I look
forward to working closely with her as our
new executive director."

Babbie's Colter
Construction to
open showroom
By Kerry Kester
Terrance Babble has been work-
ing in the construction field for 16
years and has been president of
Colter Construction, Inc. since
1990. Now he's changing the style
of his business in order to better
serve his customers. On Monday,
August 15, the same day that one
of his model homes will appear on
the cover of Homes and Land
magazine, Babbie will open the
doors of his new showroom.
Babbie's
showroom
will assist
customers
who do not
have a back-
ground in
home con-
struction in
determining
what products BABBLE
are best for
their homes. Initially, the show-
room will have samples of such
things as floor coverings, cabi-"
netry, sidings, and paint colors.
Babbie expects that he will even-
tually expand to include other
home building products as well.
Additionally, he'll provide
brochures with seven basic plans
for homes that range in size from
between 12,000 and 18,000

square feet. "What we're primari-
ly providing is top quality homes
for first time buyers and empty
nesters.
"We still will be doing custom
design and construction from con-
ception to completion," he said,
"but we'll also be providing one-
stop shopping for home buyers.
It's going to be somewhat educa-
tional as well, so the general pub-
lic can make informed decisions
on their home. People should be
aware of what they're getting for
their money.
Providing quality homes to his
clients is what is most important
to Babbie. "For a lot of people, its
the largest investment of their
lives. If the building doesn't have
structural integrity, then they're in
for big trouble down the road.
"We build beyond what the
building code requirement is."
