A Small Town's Call to Arms By Sgt. Vdliam J. Rickards, USMC Reserves The boys from Lewes have been called up to war, Like their fathers and grandfa- thers had been before. Terrorism and chemical weapons were the reason for the turmoil, So President Bush started to send troops to far off distant soils. There was not enough active duty troops to go ashore, The Pentagon called the Marine Corps Reserve because they needed more. Cpl. Ritter and Sgt. Rickards left Lewes with heads held high, While their wives and mothers held back tears in their eyes. Their daily lives had to be put on hold, Uncle Sam needed them, for this war to unfold. The news media at home was broadcasting "War on Iraq" While the troops in Kuwait were training for a chemical at- tack.
