Obituaries Continued from pabe 72 beth Ann Seton Church, where he was a member of the "Setofi Se- niors." He worked for North American Smelting Company as a brass foreman for 26 years, and most recently for Diamond State Recycling as a scale master for 14 years. He was a member of the New Castle Moose Lodge, and served the Delaware National Guard in the 262nd Ordinance Company, where he attained the rank of master sergeant. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Shelly D. Walls on 1960 and Cheryl D. Walls in 1974. He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of 46 years, Dawn Falini-Walls; daughters Julie E. Walls of Millington, Md. and Gari B. Ferreiara of Greenwood; a son, William A. Walls of Bear; his brothers, James Walls Jr, of Wilmington and Jack Brainard of Milton; his sisters Harriet S. V. Beckett, active in church Clara E. V. Beckett, 81, of Nas- sau, died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2003, of heart failure at home. Mrs. Beckett was born Jan. 13, 1922 in Belltown. She was a domestic worker. She was a member of Mt. Zion Holy Church in Milton, a member of the choir mothers of the church, as well as a trustee. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son; and three brothers. She is survived by two daugh- ters, Diane Bradley of Lewes and Joan Tunnell of Waterbury, Conn.; two brothers, Alfred Tunnell of Millsboro and Richard Tunnell of Angola; eight grandchildren sev- en great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Services were held in Mount Zion Holy Church, Milton, with burial in People's Memorial Park, Midway, Lewes. Melvin A. Fox, owned Fox Contracting Melvin A. Fox, 74, of Milton, died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2003, at Beebe Medical Center. CAPE GAZETTE, Friday, Aug. 8 -Aug. 14, 2003 - 73 Mr. Fox was born in George- town, the son of the late Chandler and Edna May Fox. He was the owner and operator of Fox Con- tracting Co. for many years. He was a member and elder of Cool- spring Presbyterian Church, Cool- springs, and served in many ca- pacities over the years. Mr. Fox was an active member and past master of Jefferson Lodge 15 • AF&AM and served from 1988- 1989 in the Grand Lodge of Delaware as RW Senior Grand Warden. He was an active mem- ber and past patron of the George- town chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star No. 9. He enjoyed restoring and rebuilding antique machinery and attended many shows. He was a member of Tuck- ahoe Steam and Gas Association Inc., the Eastern Shore Thresher- men and Collectors Association Inc., and First State Antique Trac- tor Club. He was also a Masonic Hale Holding Co. officer. He served in the U.S. Navy as a ma: chinist mate during the Korean Conflict. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters and a grand- son, Zachary Ryan Fowler. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Gloria Fox; five children, Billy E. Miller Jr. and his wife Becky of Bellefontaine, Ohio, Rick J.
