Obituaries Clarence E. Seidel, retired printer Clarence E. Seidel, 71, of Lewes died Tuesday, Aug. 11, 1998, at home. Born in Reading, Pa., Mr. Sei- del worked as a printer in the U.S. Government Printing Office, Washington, D.C., for 30 years, retiring in 1988. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the Esposito Continued from page 20 TMDLs, or Total Maximum Daily Loading plans, must be developed for a host of waters, including the inland bays ............................. They are being developed at the businessend of a court order, as part of a lawsuit settlement that ar- gued Delaware wasn't making its waters meet federal standards. The impact will be massive and include, for example, the proposed Veterans of Foreign Wars in Greenbelt, Md., and of the Ameri- can Legion in Maryland. He was also a member of Co- lumbia Typographical Union 101- 12 of Washington, D.C., and a member of the Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Rehoboth Beach. He is survived by his wife, Bet- ty Miller Seidel; a daughter, Deb- orah J. Shepard of Crofton, Md.; a son, Randy E. Seidel of Arnold, Md.; three brothers, Frederick Sei- del and Amon Seidel, both of Stoney Creek Mills, Pa., and William Seidel of Reading, Pa.; a sister, Helen Hooyman of Read- elimination of the remaining point-source discharges into the inland bays, including both Mills- boro's and Rehoboth's sewer plants. Esposito says those plans will require Delaware residents "to bite the bullet. [But] it is going to be for the good.' .... While he calls that a challenge, he thinks the biggest challenge for his successor will come not from polluted waters, but from inside DNREC's walls. He said that the state employee system does not compensate em- ing, Pa.; and four grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 18, at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior, Bay Vista Road, Rehoboth Beach. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, Aug. 17, at Delaware Veterans Cemetery, Bear. He said morale took a beating when 130 technical positions in DNREC were downgraded in 1991, a change he has fought un- successfully against. "I hope to-stay in Delaware and do my best to protect water re- sources," Esposito said He added that Delaware's water standards should continue to im- prove. "Twenty years from now, I am.sure they will be better than to- day." Storewide Summer ......
