Delaware C(,.l, ebration of Jazz gears up for Rehoboth Autumn Festival The Delaware Celebration of Jazz Inc. hosted "An Evening with Joyce Cooling" on Sunday, Aug. 9, raising approximately $800 for the Rehoboth Beach Autumn Jazz Festival '98, slated for Thursday through Sunday, Oct. 15-18. This year's festival kicks off with a Concert Cabaret from 6 to 9 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 15, at the BayCenter in Dewey Beach, fea- turing Heads Up Super Band. There will be a taste of area restaurants from 6 to 7:30 p.m., followed by the concert. On Friday, Oct. 16, Tom Grant will open for Dianne Reeves in Rehoboth Beach Convention Cen- ter at 8 p.m., while the Scotty Jazz Celebration concert, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 17, will include appearances by the Cape Henlopen High School jazz band, led by Barry Eli, a tribute to Lawrence "Scott Scott featuring Peggy Raley on vocals and con- temporary jazz group Extremity with vocalist Perky Scott and headliner Kim Waters. Saturday's entertainment will continue with Roomful of Blues at the Bottle & Cork in Dewey Beach at 4 p.m., and then Eric Marienthal opening for Jonathan Butler at 9 p.m., in Rehoboth Beach Convention Center. The weekend winds down on Sunday, Oct. 18, with a 3 p.m. concert by Joshua Redmond in Rehoboth Beach Convention Cen- ter. For more information, call 800- 29-MUSIC or 226-2166. Arden town fair slated for Sept. 5 The 91st annual Arden Town Fair & Antiques Market will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sat- urday, Sept. 5. The raindate is Sept. 6. The fair will be held out- doors on the grounds of Guild Hall, located just off Harvey Road at Orleans. The fair features arts and crafts, activities, antiques and entertainment for all ages.
