Woody's is the center for warm, romantic dining in its fight and airy atmosphere Woody's Bistro, located in the back of the same establishment, affectionately referred to as "not your mother's Dinner Bell," offers innovative American cuisine in Rehoboth Beach. The restaurant offers some of the most warm and romantic garden dining of any establishment in the area, as well as seating on the light and airy upbeat porch and seating at one of the highly perched cock- tail tables at the inside dining area. For the 1997 season, Woody's features an exten- sive menu and a new head chef. Appetizer choices are varied, and include the Louisiana shrimp - six hot and spicy Gulf shrimp pan barbecued New Orleans style or the baked brie wrapped in phillo and served with sliced French bread and fresh fruit. Another must-try is the baked crab artichoke dip served in a sourdough bread bowl. If soup is your thing, the New England clam chowder (a secret recipe loaded with bacon and potatoes) must not be overlooked. Salad choices include Ken's House Salad (Romaine leaves tossed with roasted sesame seeds, freshly grated Parmesan and a zesty Italian dress- ing), duck salad (mixed field greens topped with a broiled breast of duck, oriental noodles, and a sweet and sour dressing), and traditional Caesar salad. A ,variety of pastas grace the Woody's menu, including the spinach ravioli finished with goat cheese or the primavera aioli (a medley of fresh vegetables saut6ed in garlic and extra virgin olive oil over linguini). Crowd-pleasing entr6es offer mouthwatering gourmet choices of seafood, pork, chicken, beef and veal. The sweet potato crusted salmon, served with sundried tomato and Kalamata olive butter sauce and the blackened jumbo lump crab cakes are a unique specialty. The roasted rack of pork tenderloin, prepared with a port wine sauce, is also a best bet. Veal lovers will want to make the trip to Woody's just for the saut6ed Veal Scallopini. Beef lovers can debate over choosing the lightly sea- soned and pan seared filet mignon (served over a bed of wild mixed greens and battered onion rings), or the New York strip prepared with roasted garlic butter. After your meal, a variety of desserts are avail- able as are cappuccino and espresso. In addition, Woody's will feature Calypso, jazz and blues entertainment on a weekly basis. Woody's Bar and Grill: 2 Christian Street within the Dinner Bell Inn in Rehoboth Beach. Open from 4 to 9 p.m. on weekdays and from 4 to 10 p.m. on weekends.
