74 - CAPE GAZETTE, Friday, August 22 - August 28, 1997 The Rehoboth Summer Children's Theater will present the play "Toad's Escape" during the Fifth Annual Waterfront Arts Festival on Sunday, Aug. 24, at 4 p.m. Waterfront Festival set for Lewes Aug. 24 The Fifth Annual Lewes Water- front Arts Festival will be held on the decks of the Lighthhouse Restaurant on Sunday, Aug. 24, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The festival will feature a variety of waterfront activities for the whole family, a seafood grilling demonstration, T- shirt painting, the Cape Artists and a performance by the Re- hoboth Summer Children's The- ater. The festival opens at I0 a.m. with a T-shirt painting activity for kids who are invited to create their very own Waterfront Arts Festival shirts, using colorful paints and real fish. The Cape Artists will also be on the deck from 10 a.m. to ! p.m., painting nautical scenes. The artists will be available to discuss their works and techniques with visitors, and there will be works by group members which will be available for purchase. At 1 p.m., children will be invited to enter an art competition on the deck and prizes will be awarded. At noon, the Lighthouse Restaurant's Paul Buchness will man the deck grill and demon- strate the proper way to marinate, prepare and grill seafood. Those watching the demonstration will also have the chance to sample some of the items and will be giv- en recipe cards containing lots of great cooking tips. At 4 p.m., the cast of the Re- hoboth Summer Children's The- ater will present the play, "Toad's Escape." There is no charge for admis- sion to the festival and all events are free. Rated R. • Cop Land - There's an Oscar buzz circulating for Sly Stalione in this drama feature hard-core police intrigue in Small Town, USA. Robert De Niro and Harvey Keitel are a welcome addition to the film, which is directed by James Mangold. Rated R. • G.I. Jane - Demi Moore shows her flex appeal in a femi- nist military drama. Rated R. • Mimic - Giant insects are on the loose in the subways of Man- hattan. Mira Sorvino and Jeremy Northam try to save the day. Rat- ed R. • Event Horizon - Laurence Fishburne, Joely Richardson, Sam Neill and Holley Chant team up aboard the Daylight Space Station orbiting Earth in a tooth-and-nail science fiction thriller. Rated PG. • Conspiracy Theory - Imag- ine a world in which everything you fear comes true. That's what happens for Mel Gibson in this drama, which also stars "Pretty Woman" Julia Roberts. Rated PG-13. • Air Force One - Harrison Ford stars as the President oppo- site big screen veep Glenn Close. The head of" state's aircraft is high-jacked, sending the cast and audience reeling on an adventur- ous plot. Rated R. • George of the Jungle - Watch out for that movie! Er, I mean, tree! Yes, the on-screen version of a modern day "George" is currently in theaters. John Cleese takes on a peculiar role as George's best friend, Ape, who has a distinctive English accent. Rated PG. • Picture Perfect - Jennifer Aniston of "Friends" fame stars in this romantic comedy about want- Responding to her fans' ardent pleas for another romantic come- dy, pretty woman Julia Roberts stars as a cynical food critic des- perate to break up her best friend/love interest (played by Dylan McDermott) and his yuppie fiancOe (played by Cameron Di- az).
