Edmond's Education Building, 409 King Charles Ave,, Rehoboth Beach, on Monday, Sept. 15 at 7:30 p.m., and continue weekly until late spring of 1998. It is a process of welcoming new members into the Roman Catholic Church and current members to be re-evangelized, The RCIA can be described as the following: • A community journey that leads to a transformation of mind and spirit, guided by the gospel and church members, whereby newcomers can find their place in a community of believers. • A personal journey in which church members re-examine thier own relationship with God. • A faith journey into the depths of the Paschal Mystery, a journey whose goal is "putting on the mind of Christ." RCIA provides a first pahse of inquiry sessions in which one is given the opportunity to look at the Catholic faith for information, spiritual guidance and for a sense of community. The agenda for Sept. 15 includes prayer, welcoming, introduction, presentation, relfection, dialogue and hospitality. This first period of inquiry ends with the Rite of Acceptance into the Order of Catechumens in late November or early December. The third period, Enlightenment, coincides with Lent and is a time for purification and prayer. It concludes wit celefibration of the sacraments of initiation - Baptism ford the unbaptized, Confirmation and Eucharist. The fourth period goes through the Easter season and is a time for deepning tile Christian experience for spiritual growth. One may go at his or her own pace.
