Money magazine calls UD a "Best Buy" The University of Delaware ranks 64th in Money magazine's eighth annual ranking of top val- ues in four-year undergraduate schools in America. Featured in the magazine's Sep- tember issue, the ranking ot' 150 schools is based on an analysis of cost and academic quality at more than 1,100 colleges. The magazine used 16 measures of edncational quality, including entrance exam results, faculty re- sources and deployment, library resources, instructional and stu- dent services budget, four, five and six-year gradumion rates and default ratios on graduates' stu- dent loans. Swartzel awarded ROTC scholarship Sherry Swartzel, a 1997 Cape Henlopen High School graduate and former executive officer of the JROTC Battalion, recently .received a four-year Army ROTC Scholarship. The award is a Tier 1 ROTC schol- arship worth $60,000. In addition, Swartzel has received other scholar- ships including a $1,200 local American Legion award;-a $300 Past President's Parley American Legion Nurses, The Richard Soukey Memorial of $250 and a $100 CHEA/CHHS award. Swartzel will be starting classes at Capital University Aug. 25. The school, a private uni- versity located in Columbus, Ohio, has offered her an additional $8,400 scholarship and a challenge grant of $14,000, for a total of $84,850 in scholarships and grants.
