106 - CAPE GAZETTE, Friday, September I - Monday, September 4, 2005 Jim Westhoff photos Helicopter crews over Indian River Bay Vacationers on the placid Indian River Bay side of Delaware Seashore State Park were surprised by helicopters making repeated water rescues Thursday, Aug. 24. It was a training mission for Evergreen Aviation, a private company that will send rescue swimmers and helicopter crewmen to the United Arab Emirates, where they will rescue boaters or others in need of help. Training project manager Ron Selvy said Dewey Beach and Indian River Bay were perfect for training. "We have a lot of our equipment in Philadelphia, n he said. Below, seen from a Delaware State Police Helicopter, the Evergreen Bell 412 hoists a rescue swimmer from Indian Riv- er Bay. Delaware State Police Cpl. Robert McMahon said the state police purchased a similar aircraft and wanted to ob- serve the Evergreen crews as they trained.
